Paving the Path Toward a Better Future

Dedicated to Empowering our Less Privileged Communities

Incorporated on September 24, 2013, Delta Care Hope Foundation is a nonprofit organization under 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. The group was created as a response to the increasing numbers of homeless youths, adults, and families in the Mississippi Delta area as well as the need for a more comprehensive approach to serving them.

Hence, our mission is to empower underserved communities by providing holistic developmental programs that lead to self-sufficiency and self-reliance through education, training, advocacy, and overall support services. Additionally, we aim to develop systemic approaches to combat poverty and homelessness and to enhance economic security and well-being in families.

About Mrs. Brenda Lynn, Founder

Mrs. Lynn has been married to Albert Lynn, the co-founder of Delta Care Hope Foundation, for more than 25 years. Together, they have two adult daughters, Ayanna and Nyesha, and an adopted son, Dazavies. They also have a grandson named Caiden.

In 1995, Mrs. Lynn obtained her bachelor’s degree in social work from the Mississippi Valley State University. She later earned a master’s degree in social work in 2005 from the Jackson State University.

Moreover, she is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) and is certified in parenting classes through Centers for Improvement of Child Caring for African-American Parenting. Her goal is to become a licensed clinical social worker, continuing to allow the Lord to direct her path.

Mrs. Lynn serves as the First Lady of Empowering Temple Church where her husband is the pastor. She is also a member of the Christian Fellowship Church, and has several capacities under the leadership of her parents, Pastor Elijah, Virgie Walker, and her husband. She is a member of the Adult Day Care Association and the Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. Lynn has more than 20 years of experience in social work. She has worked in the hospital and home health and hospice setting as a medical social worker. She was also the director of the Adolescent Opportunity Program, which served the delinquent (at-risk) youth.

Her motto is “Life may bring you failures, but get back up and try again. Never give up on your dreams.”
